Work on two phases of the Improving Hwy. 66 project has continued on schedule.
This week in Phase 2, which stretches from Douglas Dam Road (SR-139) to south of the 1-40 Interchange, Blalock & Sons Construction crews continued storm drain installation in the median and sidewalk construction along the northbound lanes.
Crews also prepared to construct the curb and gutter for the new outside northbound lanes from Snyder Road to 1-40. The concrete for the curb would have already been placed if it weren’t for heavy traffic in the area.

Short duration traffic stops should be expected by motorists this week throughout Phase 2 of the project as crews move equipment and materials in and out of the work zone.
