Tennessee State Bank has awarded a $500 scholarship to a student selected from each of the four high schools in Sevier County for the Frances Childress Special Friends Scholarship.
The Frances Childress Special Friends Scholarship recognizes a high school senior for showing compassion to fellow students with special needs.
The scholarship is given in memory of Frances Childress and her dedication to individuals with disabilities. She worked in Sevier County Schools as a Special Education Paraprofessional for 17 years.
This year’s recipients were Robert Chesser of Seymour High School, Courtney Huskey of Sevier County High School, Josh Parr of Pigeon Forge High School and Amber Reilly of Gatlinburg-Pittman High School.
