While the closure of a business is usually seen as a blight on the economy, a local restaurant owner sees new opportunity where an other venture has shut its doors.
Jack Flap’s Restaurant ended its two years of business at its location on Chapman Hwy. in Seymour this month.
Bob Webb, who owned the restaurant, could not be reached for comments regarding the closure, but Willie Laboy, owner and operator of Willie’s Restaurant and current owner of the building previously occupied by Jack Flap’s, was able to shed some light on the situation.
“They ended their lease early,” he said. “This has nothing to do with trying to run them out of business. We didn’t buy the building to kick them out. If they wanted to, we could have worked something out.”
