Andrew Ramsey, a graduate of Seymour High School and current University of Tennessee student, was recently selected to receive the John Wendell and Clara Lee Hobby Scholarship.
The $7,000 scholarship is for the 2012-2013 academic year and is given to one UT student that has transferred from a junior college in recognition of their academic achievement.
Ramsey was selected based his strong academic and athletic participation. While attending Walter State in Morristown, he played on the Walter State Golf Team, participated in a work study program, made the Dean’s list both years and was selected and inducted into the Phi-Theta Kappa Honors Society.
He is currently majoring in Business Analytics at UT and working at Huck Finn’s Catfish restaurant in Pigeon Forge.
