A two-vehicle accident that occurred at Seymour’s busiest intersection backed up traffic on June 9.

According to Officer Ryan Cleaveland of the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department, a black pickup truck was making a left turn from Boyds Creek to Chapman when a gold Impala traveling north on Chapman Hwy. smashed into the turning truck.

According to Cleaveland, the driver of the truck had the right-of-way and the woman driving the Impala was at fault.

“The glass from the front-right-passenger’s-side-door went into her face,” he said. “The Sevier County Ambulance Service checked her out. She didn’t appear to be seriously injured, but she refused to be transported to the hospital.”
