
The cause of a house fire which occurred in South Knoxville last week has been determined to be arson. (The Herald/Joe King)
According to Knox County Fire Department officials, arson has been determined to be the cause of a structure fire in South Knoxville.
The fire, which occurred May 29 at 136 W. Moody Ave., was quickly put under control, but investigators had reason to suspect arson for the cause.
When the same address caught on fire again on the same day, that suspicion grew.
“There are two separate investigators for each fire,” said D.J. Corcoran, Public Information Officer for KCFD. “The cause of the first fire has been determined to be arson.”
