Although the Seymour softball team didn’t do quite as well as they had hoped to in the TSSAA Class AAA state tournament, several Lady Eagles earned high individual awards.
Senior Kerigan Newport, juniors Carly Lewis and Lauren Irwin, and sophomore Samantha Baldwin were all named to the District 2-AAA All IMAC team.
The biggest award went to Lewis who was named IMAC Payer of the Year after she had an outstanding season not only in the circle but also at the plate where she finished the year with a .452 batting average, 10 home runs, 10 doubles and 60 RBI’s.
In the circle Lewis won 20 and lost only five games with an ERA of only 1.40. Lewis struck out 205 hitters.
