Nearing the verge of retirement, a local woman reflected on the warm memories and friendships she developed over the years at Seymour High School.

Sylvia Moore, who has been employed as a custodian at Seymour High School since 1997, will be retiring June 30.

“I have had a great experience with the students here,” she said. “There are always two or three a year I develop a close bond with. We cry together when they are about to graduate, but that’s just them moving on with their lives.”

Now that Moore has made the decision to retire, she is the one who will be moving on to a new phase in her life.
