With the rising cost of food and the growing concern of healthy nutrition, grocery shopping has become a valuable life skill for the next generation.

To help educate children on making both economical and healthy choices, the Seymour Boys & Girls Club has created a program which emphasizes decision making.

“This is one of the 12 sessions for our productive future programs,” said Eric Harper, director of the Seymour Branch of the the Boys & Girls Club. “It is designed to help prepare children for what’s to come in life.”

Harper explained the program would focus on having children do a mock-purchase of groceries they would actually use in their everyday life.
