Because of the recent increase of armed robberies in Seymour, traffic officer Todd Williams of the Sevier County Sheriff’s office is asking residents to be aware of their surroundings.
“If you see a suspicious vehicle, make the Sheriff’s Department aware of it,” he said. “Don’t be afraid to contact us. We are here for the community 24/7.”
Williams, who has served as an officer for Sevier County for six years, responded to a new series of theft calls May 22.
“I’ve responded to two calls for people stealing concrete statue off of front yards today,” he said on Tuesday. “What on earth is somebody going to do with a 300-pound concrete eagle?”
