While the graduation of the Seymour High School class of 2012 was a millstone moment for many, two Seymour teachers have reached a turning point of their own.

Buddy Houser and James Cotter have both announced plans to retire from their multi-decade teaching careers.

James Cotter, who has taught for 41 years, said 2012 will be his last year and is ready for retirement.

“It’s time,” Cotter said of his retirement. “I have plans to do a lot of traveling with my wife.”
