Whether it is because of the available commercial real estate, hearsay, company scouting, or a combination of these factors, there has been a rumor circulating around Seymour that a Cracker Barrel restaurant would someday be constructed in the Mountain Grove Dr. shopping center.

“When I first started here, somebody told me they were building a Cracker Barrel in one of these empty parcels of land,” said Steven Reeves, a manager at the Lowe’s on Mountain Grove Dr. “But that was two or three years ago.”

According to Cracker Barrel officials there is not currently a plan for such a location.

“I don’t have anything on my list so it is not confirmed,” said Diane Kuipers, a public relations official for Cracker Barrel. “This real estate list goes well into 2013.”
