Although Sevier County Deputy Bob Burdren is officially retired, he still feels the need to protect the community he loves.

“I’ve been in law enforcement for 35 years,” he said. “Twenty-five years of that time was with the Tennessee Highway Patrol.”

Burdren explained THP has a strict policy which enforces retirement at age 60. When Burdren had reached retirement age, he was still eager to continue the legacy of service.

“I joined the Sevier County Sheriff’s in June 2007,” Burdren said. “I’m thankful to have this opportunity to serve my community. I still have something to give back.”
