Having achieved unparalleled athletic excellence during his tenure at Rocky Top, University of Tennessee head diving coach Dave Parrington was one of 10 figures to be chosen for induction into the Greater Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame.

Now entering his 23rd season at the helm of the Tennessee diving program, Parrington has coached six NCAA Champions along with one World Champion. Through the years UT divers under his watch have accumulated 80 All-America honors.

Recognized by his peers as one of the best, Parrington has been tabbed as the Southeastern Conference Men’s Diving Coach of the Year on seven occasions (1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2012), while earning the accolade on the women’s side three times (1997, 2003, 2012).

In all nine of his divers have been tabbed the conference’s Diver of the Year on 12 occasions, while five have been selected as the SEC Freshman Diver of the Year. He also coached Tennessee’s first women’s diving NCAA Champion in 1995 and second in 1998.
