Making her second appearance at the Canada Cup on Friday, University of Tennessee redshirt sophomore diver Tori Lamp had the same fate as she did three years ago, advancing to the platform semi-finals as a member of Team USA.

Held in Montreal, Quebec, and being the second stop during the six-city 2012 FINA Grand Prix, Lamp cruised through the meet’s prelims as one of the top 12 finishers to advance to the semis.

With the semi-finals consisting of two groups of six divers, Lamp needed to place in the top three of her group to qualify for the event finals. The Knoxville, native came up just a bit short in her bid, finishing with a tally of 305.10 to notch fourth.

Entering the fifth and final round, Lamp needed a score of 81.30 on her last dive to tie for third. Though she hit her best dive of the round, Lamp scored an 80.00 to just miss the cut. The top three totals in Group A were 332.50, 330.75 and 306.40.
