Dillon Marcum Honeycutt (The Herald/BCSO)

Blount County Sheriff James Lee Berrong announced a 20-year-old Madisonville man was charged April 30 in connection with a methamphetamine investigation.

Dillon Marcum Honeycutt, 20 of Madisonville, was charged with promoting the manufacture of methamphetamine. He is being held in the Blount County Detention Facility. Bond and court date have not yet been set.

Investigators with the Fifth Judicial Drug Task Force received information that a suspicious person was attempting to purchase pseudo ephedrine, a precursor in the manufacture of methamphetamine, at local businesses. Task Force investigators initiated a traffic stop for a traffic violation on the vehicle on Morganton Road near William Blount Drive.

During the course of the traffic stop, investigators were given consent to search the vehicle, and they found other precursors used to manufacture methamphetamine inside of a bag containing baby clothes. Investigators determined the precursors were going to be taken to another county for the purpose of manufacturing methamphetamine.
