The convenience center located behind Floyd’s Market is getting an overhaul to maximize efficiency.

In addition to the normal waste management services provided by the Sevier County run facility, the improved center will house two trash compactors, enclosed carports for safer disposal of sensitive wastes, and demolition units.

According to Dan King, the Director of the Convenience Centers for the Solid Waste Management of Sevier County, the improvements will pay for themselves and save the county money.

“The $30 charge to use the demolition units will pay for the improvements,” King said.
