A Knox County Deputy struck a car driven by a Seymour teenager last week in Knoxville.
While driving his police cruiser at about 9:15 p.m. April 24, Knox County Deputy Charles Hammet, 38, failed to stop at a red light and collided with a 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue, according to a report provided by the Knox County Sheriff’s Department.
The accident occurred at the intersection of Walnut St. and Main St. in downtown Knoxville.
Hammet stated in the report he was traveling north on Walnut St. and believed the light was green when he proceeded through the intersection.
