The consensus among administrators at Seymour High School is post-secondary education is essential in the current job market.
“To be competitive in today’s job market, students need to pursue some type of post-secondary education,” said Cheryl Troutman, School Counselor at Seymour High School. “Whether a student chooses a technical career school, apprenticeship, a two-year college, or a four-year university, it is important their interests, skills and personality traits are taken into account.”
It is because of this philosophy of expanding upon the strength of graduates that Seymour presents an assortment of options to students.
In addition to a variety of Universities that participate in a college fair which SHS hosts every fall, technical schools such as ITT Tech and Tennessee Technology Center, as well as trade schools such as Reuben-Allen or Tennessee School of Beauty also reach out to students.
