Deputy Mark Fellin has been with the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department for 22 years and for the last six he has been a K-9 officer.

“I’ve always wanted to be a K-9 Officer,” Fellin recalled. “I used to breed German Shepherds and it was wonderful for Sheriff (Ron) Seals to give me this opportunity.”

When Fellin was selected to become a K-9 Officer, one of his first tasks was to choose a new canine companion from a large group of dogs.

“I looked a videos and pictures of tons of dogs,” he said. “I picked Cyklon because he was designated for an experienced handler. I wasn’t considered an experienced handler at the time, but that helped us learn from each other.”
