Around 275 clients per month benefit from the resources that Christians Reaching Out Serving Seymour (C.R.O.S.S.) has to offer. But as the weather gets colder and the holidays come rolling around, more people will need assistance.
This is nothing that C.R.O.S.S. can’t handle.
Recently, Seymour United Methodist Boy Scout Troop 585 and Seymour Primary School had drives that increased the giving potential of this ministry. Donations of mostly canned goods were donated to the boy scouts at Kroger and to the primary school during its Fall Festival.
“Both drives were very successful,” said C.R.O.S.S. President Buddy Greene.
Greene explained C.R.O.S.S. is not able to do anything for Thanksgiving, but there will be a voucher program at the beginning of December. Starting Dec. 1 through Dec. 14, individuals and families can apply for a voucher. Vouchers can be redeemed at Food City for groceries.
“We have so much money that we have allocated,” Greene said, “and we will split it up.”
Vouchers can be picked up two days after the request period ends.
