The initial results of the College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll were released on Wednesday, and the Tennessee Lady Vol swimming and diving team found itself ranked ninth.
The Big Orange was one of five Southeastern Conference schools to rank in the top 25, as the other four league members are No. 1 Georgia, No. 4 Florida, No. 6 Auburn and No. 20 LSU. Future SEC schools Texas A&M and Missouri also made the list, as the Aggies are ranked 10th and the Tigers are 15th.
The upcoming Tennessee Invitational will feature four top 25 programs, as joining UT will be Texas A&M, LSU and 17th-ranked Louisville.
Tennessee will also have two more dual meets this season, both against ranked opponents. The squad travels to Athens, Ga., to face off against the top-ranked Lady Bulldogs on Jan. 21, and then hosts the Florida Gators on Jan. 28 at the AJIAC, which will also be Senior Day.
Already this season, the Lady Vols have knocked off two ranked opponents, as the Orange and White defeated No. 14 Indiana at home on Oct. 22 and topped Louisville on the road on Oct. 27.
