Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Tennessee visited the Tennessee Air National Guard base Friday to tour a KC-135, a refueling aircraft, and their fire station.
“This is just one example of the many opportunities provided for matches in Big Brothers and Big Sisters,” said Chief Development Officer, Lis Couser, “We are always looking for new ways to create learning experiences for our volunteers. It not only helps to build these relationships, it allows Little Brothers and Sisters to have a new experience. This is just one of the ways you can invest in Big Brothers Big Sisters.”

“The tour of the KC-135 included going into all parts of the plane. We got to sit in the cockpit, sit where the navigator sits, walk through the main part of it and get down into where the boom operator actually refuels other planes. It was really neat because the kids got to see the plane they were just in actually flying up close,” said Big Brothers Big Sisters staff member, John Young.
