The Maryville College volleyball squad travelled to Macon, Georgia on Saturday and promptly took a pair of Great South matches from host Wesleyan College as well as Piedmont College in a GSAC tri-match.
Maryville attacked at a .303 pace and held Piedmont to only 21 team kills en route to the 25-15, 25-19, and 25-14 three-set sweep. The match against the Pioneers of Wesleyan saw MC connect on over 56% of their attacks pushing the Scots to a 25-8, 25-4, 25-4 convincing victory.
Against Piedmont, Kristin Findley completed her 16th double-double of the season with 14 kills and 10 digs attacking at a 48% success rate. Kara Strickland finished with nine kills and 11 digs while Teri Lind and Katherine Nadler posted 10 and 12 digs respectively.
Lind completed a double-double of her own with 20 assists to go with her defensive effort. Lauren Bonee added 15 assists to team with Lind to direct MC’s efficient attack.
The Scots (19-6, 6-0 GSAC) saw Hope Johnson emerge with a 12 kill effort to pace their effort against Wesleyan. Morgan Hall recorded 35 assists while feeding Johnson, Jillian Galewski (8 kills), and Mallory Bonee (7 kills). Mallory Bonee also connected for seven service aces.
Maryville will return to the Boydson Baird Gymnasium in search of their 20th victory of the season on Tuesday evening when they host Johnson University at 6:00 pm.
