




Maryville’s Men’s Soccer team got back to their winning ways as they defeated the visiting Wasps of Emory & Henry by the score of 4-0 on Tuesday night.
The Scots got on the board early when Tom Webster scored from Travis Bolton in the seventh minute of the contest. Sean Yoder would add a second goal for Maryville in the 22nd minute. Brian Beckham would end the scoring in the first half when he found the back of the net from David Lethco in the 30th minute.
Maryville was able to dominate the game outshooting Emory & Henry 30-9 on the evening while earning 14 corners to only a single corner for Emory & Henry. The final goal of the evening would come from Travis Bolton in the 85th minute.
Scot’s goalkeeper Ben Munger saved three shots as he turned in his third shutout of the season.
“We generated a lot of quality chances tonight, but our finishing was just a little off. We’ll work on this in practice over the next few days and be ready to go on Saturday,” said head coach Pepe Fernandez.
The win brings Maryville’s record to 7-2-1 on the season.
