The Great South Athletic Conference is pleased to announced the Kara Strickland is the Weekly Honor Roll recipient for volleyball for the week ending Sept 18.
Kara Strickland, a senior outside hitter from Pleasanton, California representing Maryville College, takes home the volleyball crown after an outstanding week for the Scots.
Strickland's win gives Maryville their second straight volleyball honor roll member after teammate Kristin Findley nabbed the award to start the season.
Leading the way for the Scots last week, Strickland helped Maryville College to a 3-1 record this week with key wins over Covenant, Hollins, and Roanoke. She posted a double-double against Covenant (11 kills/15 digs) and Roanoke (10 kills/ 10 digs). She attacked at an amazing pace .714 (10 kills, 0 errors, 14 attacks). On the week Strickland tallied 32 kills, 7 set assists, three service aces, 56 digs, and three block assists.
