The Maryville College Men’s Soccer team came up short against the Wildcats of Randolph College 1-0 on Sunday in Maryville.
The lone goal of the contest came in the second overtime and gave Randolph the victory. The Scots battled much adversity throughout the afternoon but in the end didn’t have enough.
Maryville played shorthanded most of the second half when in the 57th minute junior Taylor Richardson got a red card, resulting in an ejection from the game.
“It was a tough game for us. We just played yesterday on the road and we didn’t have the life in our legs. Randolph was fresh and it showed on the field today but, we’ll bounce back,” said Head Coach Pepe Fernandez.
With the loss, the Scots fall to 6-1-0 on the season. Maryville will be back in action Wednesday, September 21st when they host Transylvania. The game is slated for a 7:00 pm start
