A Seymour teenager has been arrested in connection with the burglary of a Seymour fast food restaurant on Monday night.
Jonathon A. McAfee, 18 of Johnson Rd. in Seymour, faces several charges after being linked to a late night burglary of Long John Silvers on Chapman Hwy.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said at about 11:59 p.m. Monday the burglar alarm was activated at the restaurant. When officers arrived approximately a minute later they found that the business had been burglarized.
A witness gave officers a description of the suspect who was seen running from the scene, as well as a description of his vehicle.
A short time later, Officer Aaron Whaley spotted the vehicle on Chapman Hwy. and initiated a traffic stop. Whaley determined that the passenger of the car, later identified as McAfee, matched the description of the subject seen running from the restaurant.
Detectives were called to the scene where an in-store video was viewed and McAfee was identified as being the lone burglar inside the store.
McAfee was transported to the Sevier County Jail where he was charged with Burglary, Vandalism and underage consumption of alcohol.
A 17-year-old girl who was driving the car was released at the conclusion of the investigation.
McAfee was arraigned before a Magistrate and is being held.
