The drive around certain areas is about to get a little smoother for motorists.
Over the new few weeks more than 10 miles of road will be completely resurfaced in the Seymour area.
Crews are currently working on the projects, and are expected to finish within the next two to three weeks, weather permitting.
“It is all depending on the weather and what they get done that day,” said Jonas Smelcer, Road Superintendent of the Sevier County Hwy. Department. “The weather is the determining factor because if the road surface is wet the crews will need to wait.”
He added that crews aren’t doing any type of patch work during these projects.
“(The crews) are resurfacing the roads with all new asphalt, there will be no patches at all,” he said.
The following is a partial list of the roads scheduled to be resurfaced:
Newell Station Circle, Shular Drive, Golden Harvest Circle, Old Wagon Road, Keene Drive, Admiral Farragut Drive, Kyker Circle, Meadow Lake Circle, Meadow Lake Circle, Jordan Lane, Boone Docks Trail, Fallen Oak Circle, Eldorado Circle, Clear View Drive, Reece Lane, Franklin Blvd., Ailey Circle, Myer Hollow Road, Yates Road, Harrison Lane Redwood Ct., Chilhowee School Road, and North Pitner.
Motorists are urged to drive with caution in areas where road crews are present.
