For over 90 years, East Tennesseans have brought their best quilts, crafts, cows, and culinary creations to enter the Tennessee Valley Fair’s more than 1,200 competitions in the hopes of winning a coveted blue ribbon.
In order to help streamline the entry process, the Fair has posted all contest information online at: http://www.tnvalleyfair.org/contests.php  Contest descriptions, rules, deadlines and entry forms can be downloaded for all available contests.
Competitive entries are a vital part of the Tennessee Valley Fair.  In 2010, nearly 1,400 individual entries were received in a wide range of categories including: photography, scrapbooking, jewelry, ceramics, flowers, culinary arts, cattle, dairy goats and rabbits.
The Tennessee Valley Fair is proud to play a role in stimulating competition in East Tennessee by providing a unique venue to highlight the region’s best products.  Each year, the Fair incentivizes innovation by awarding tens of thousands of dollars in premiums to farmers, artists and individuals who continually improve their products. East Tennesseans are encouraged to browse the Fair’s contest page and showcase their creations at the 2011 Fair.
Potential competitors can still receive printed information and entry forms through the mail by calling the Fair's entry department at 865-215-1480.  The 2011 Tennessee Valley Fair will run from September 9-18.
