There will be a new addition to the popular local car show, Seymour Cruise-In, next week.
In addition to the normal weekly cruise features, such as classic rock music played by a disc jockey and local sales and specials, car enthusiasts will be able to vote for their favorite ride of the cruise.
The Herald Newspapers, in conjunction with cruise organizers, will sponsor a “People’s Choice” competition for cruise-goers’ “favorite rides” of the night.
First, second and third place winners will receive trophies, as well as tickets to a race night at 411 Motor Speedway. The first place winner will receive a four-pack of tickets and second and third place winners will receive two tickets each.
This competition is the first of the monthly contests that will be held at cruises and sponsored by the Herald throughout the event’s normal season.
Next week’s cruise will be held at the Macon Crossing Shopping Center (in the parking lots of Wendy’s and Seymour Pharmacy) at 5 p.m. July 9.
Another addition to the cruise will be a swap meet night during the fourth Saturday of each month. There is no charge for the swap meet.
Seymour Cruise-In is a family-friendly event and organizers invite residents with all makes and models of cars to attend.
