Every week more and more local cruisers are turning up at the Seymour Cruise-In.
The cruises are held every Saturday at 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Macon Crossing Shopping Center on Chapman Hwy.
This week, the featured car was a black 1961 Chevrolet Impala, owned by Seymour residents Ron and Vera Klenovic.
The couple dated in a black 1961 Implala, and in 1997 while at a car show in Pigeon Forge they were given the opportunity to purchase their current car.
They enjoy attending local shows and cruises in the Impala which reminds them of their dating years together.
In addition to scoping out the rides that come to the show, participants can also enjoy music played by a classic rock disc jockey, as well as sales and promotions offered by local businesses.
A new addition to the show this season will be a monthly contest to award the top three favorite rides of the cruise. The winners will be determined by the event’s crowd and will be sponsored by the Herald.
The first “People’s Choice” cruise awards will be given during the regularly scheduled cruise on July 9.
Seymour Cruise-In is a family-friendly event and organizers invite residents with all makes and models of cars to attend.
