The USA South Athletic Conference has released its 2010-2011 Academic All-Conference Team. A student-athlete must have earned a 3.0 GPA in each of the two semesters of a given year to be eligible.
Any student-athlete participating in any varsity sport at any Conference institution is eligible. The sport does not have to be a Conference-sponsored sport. This season, 768 athletes earned Academic All-Conference honors.
Maryville College, a football only member until the 2012-2013 season, was represented by 16 outstanding student athletes.
Earning Academic All-Conference accolades for the Scots were Ryne Anderson, Corey Brewer, Demetrius Christian, Caleb Clement, Jake Crawford, Dakota Crews, Kane Crowell, Brad Eich, Wesley Idlette, Andrew Jenkins, Hayden Jerrolds, Justin Kanjanabout, Andrew Noboa, Zane Winders, Chase Worley, and John Worley.
Maryville College Head Football Coach Tony Ierulli has had tremendous success developing his players on the field and in the classroom. Over his first eight seasons, Ierulli and his staff have developed 69 All-USA South performers in only six years of membership. 74 players were honored the last three seasons alone by the league as academic all-conference honorees.
