Three Cocke County men have been arrested for their suspected involvement with two structure fires in Sevier County.
The men, Isaac D. Brandon, 20 of Hartford, Jacob D. Gillespie, 20 of Cosby, and Jacob A. Thigpen, 19 of Cosby, have all been charged with two counts of arson and burglary in Sevier County.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that the men’s arrests are the result of a two-month, multi-agency investigation that began after structure fires in abandoned buildings were determined to be a result of arson.
The first fire occurred on Jones Cove Rd. in Sevierville on March 30 and the other took place on March 31 on Gatlin Road in Gatlinburg.
According to Seals, the investigation culminated with the arrest of the three men on June 16. Brandon, Gillespie and Thigpen also face charges related to fires in Cocke County.
The joint investigation consisted of Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigation Unit, State Bomb and Arson Unit, Gatlinburg Fire Department and Cocke County Sheriff’s Office.
Thigpen and Gillespie are being held in Cocke County Jail under a $50,000 bond and Brandon was arrested and booked into Sevier County Jail and posted a $50,000 bond.
A hearing date for the men has not yet been scheduled.
