Cruising has proved to be just as much, if not more, popular on Saturdays.
The Seymour Cruise-In recently moved from Friday evenings to Saturday evenings at 5 p.m.
Participants packed the parking lot last week for the first Saturday cruise, and none seemed to notice any difference.
That may be because the day of the week is about the only thing different about the weekly cruises.
The event still has the same features that have been drawing large crowds this season, such as a D.J. spinning classic rock tunes and special promotions and discounts from local businesses.
There is one more change however. Organizers for the Seymour Cruise-In have recently teamed up with the Herald to create a special event at one cruise a month.
The Herald will sponsor a cruise monthly and award trophies to the top three winners of the “People’s Choice Awards.”
As part of the awards, the crowd will have the chance to award their top three favorite rides at the cruise.
These events will kick-off July 9 during the cruise’s normal time.
Seymour Cruise-In is a family-friendly event and organizers invite residents with all makes and models of cars to attend.
