The Sevier County Democrats are holding a public information seminar about local farming and initiatives to support local producers.
“It’s officially summertime,” says Chairperson Kendra Rand. “So it’s time to celebrate the tomatoes and berries and squash and all the delicious things grown right in our literal and figurative back yards.”
The public event will feature speakers from Organicism Farms, an organic farm in Seymour, and representatives from the Gatlinburg, Sevierville and Seymour Farmers Markets. Attendees will enjoy warm bread from the Wildflower Bake Shop and Boutique, served with butter and local honey.
The event begins at 7 p.m. June 2 at the King Family Library, located at 408 High St. near downtown Sevierville.
“We’re pleased to keep providing these public forums where members of the community can learn about what’s going on right here in Sevier County,” says Rand. “We hope everyone feels welcome to attend our meetings—to ask questions and connect with neighbors.”
The Sevier County Democrats meet at 7 p.m. the first Thursday of every month at the King Family Library. For more info visit www.SevierDemocrats.org or call (865) 323-3809.
