PING All-America teams for Division III have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America following the NCAA Championships.
Maryville College senior Trey Bridwell was selected as a second team honoree for the prestigious award.
Bridwell finished 14th overall at the 2011 NCAA Division III Golf Championships.
On the season Trey won the Piedmont Fall Invitational and Maryville College Invitational individual titles while placing second at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational and 2011 Great South Athletic Conference Championships. He also had top five finishes at the Piedmont Spring Invitational and Rhodes College Men’s Fall Classic.
Golfstat ranked Trey 5th in the region and going into the NCAA Championship he held a No.5 national ranking as an individual.
In nine tournaments before the NCAA challenge, Trey averaged a 72.28 score.
He is the first golf All-American in Maryville College’s athletic history.
