The National Association of Letter Carriers, in conjunction with the United States Postal Service, will be collecting non-perishable food items May 14 to help families in need in the Seymour community.
Food items needed include canned meats and fish, canned chili and beef stew, breakfast foods, peanut butter, dry spaghetti and macaroni, canned spaghetti sauce, canned or boxed pasta meals, canned fruits and vegetables, canned or dry soup, rice and beans.
Organizers ask that residents do not include items that are expired or in glass containers.
Residents can help by placing their food donation at their mailbox on May 14 before the letter carrier arrives with that day’s mail.  It will be taken to the Seymour Post Office and then delivered to C.R.O.S.S., Seymour’s local food ministry.
C.R.O.S.S. (Christians Reaching Out Serving Seymour) is a non-profit TN Corporation established by local churches in the Seymour area.  Financial support is provided by sponsoring churches, local businesses, community fundraisers, and many residents in the Seymour area.
