After the lane closures from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Wednesday at Main Street and Old Knoxville Hwy. in Sevierville on the bridge over the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River, motorists can expect even more changes.
The intersection was closed to allow crews to mill and resurface it.
As of Wednesday morning the project has entered its second of three phases.
As part of this new phase the center turn lane throughout the construction area has been removed.
Officials said the lane was removed because there was simply not enough room on the bridge to safely conduct construction with it.
There is one more phase to this project and construction is expected to be complete by Dec. 2011.
