The Great South Athletic Conference has announced its Pitcher of the Week in baseball for the week ending February 20 with Maryville's Johnny Lingo taking home the honor. Lingo is the first Scot to be named Pitcher of the Week on the season.
In a pair of starts, Lingo posted a 0.96 ERA in 9.1 innings of work and struck out five while scattering seven hits limiting Emory & Henry and DePauw to a .212 team batting average. The Florida native picked up his first win of the season with a two-hit performance against DePauw.
As a senior anchor of the Scot pitching staff, Lingo helped the Scots post back-to-back shutouts for the first time in the Daniel Washburn era at MC.
