The Seymour High School speech and debate team will be attending the Smoky Mountain Invitational in Gatlinburg this weekend, February 24-26.
The tournament, hosted by Carson-Newman College, allows students to compete in various events, ranging from acting to public speaking and debate. Representatives from Seymour will be competing in all three categories.
The tournament draws more than twenty schools from four states, annually. Seymour has attended this tournament for upwards of five years, and has a storied amount of success at the competition.
“It is one of my favorite tournaments of the year,” says team president David Monghi. “It is the one that want and have to win.”
Results will be posted following the tournament.
