The King Family Library, main library of the Sevier County Public Library System, was the recipient of a recent donation of a keyboard by Kevin McGuire, Entertainment Services in Gatlinburg.
McGuire provides professional live music, DJ services, and consultation help through his Entertainment Services business.
“Music is definitely a passion in my life,” McGuire said. “At the core of this donation is for the general community to have access to a musical instrument in a public location.”
McGuire also donated two keyboards to Ruth Lewis, English teacher, quartet and choir instructor at the Gatlinburg-Pittman High School for school use.
The keyboard for the King Family Library will be catalogued and available for use within the building in the near future. It may also be used by Virginia Borrelli, Children’s Program Coordinator in providing music for the children’s story time programs.
K. C. Williams, SCPLS System Director, was thrilled with the donation and looks forward to the public having access to the keyboard in the library for their own entertainment and to increase personal musical skills.
