Enjoy a little love Feb. 25-27 when Walters State Community College presents “Romance/Romance,” a musical that shows two very different views of romance.
The first act follows two well-to-do singles in turn-of-the-century Vienna as they abandon everything in search of true love. The second act shows affection and disaffection between two couples vacationing in the Hamptons circa 1980.
Friday and Saturday performances are set for 7:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. Ticket prices are $10 for adults and $5 for students. The play will be in the theatre of the Judge William H. Inman Humanities Complex on the college’s Morristown campus.
Director Chris Sanford is well known among local theatric circles and drew rave reviews for his choreography for Encore Theatrical Company’s 2010 production of “Chicago.” This production marks his directorial debut at Walters State, where he serves as an adjunct faculty member.
“The students are just great. All four are playing much older characters. In the play, their characters are facing issues that the students won’t face for years,” Sanford said. “All four of these students have come a long way since the beginning of January.”
To make reservations, call the Division of Humanities at (423) 585-6922. This number is available Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Tickets will also be available at the box office an hour before the performance starts.
