A long-time Seymour business has now moved to a new location.
Walker’s Automotive Collision Repair, owned by life-long Seymour resident Paul Walker, had been successful in its previous location in Seymour for over 20 years, but Walker decided it was time for a change of venue.
The repair shop had been located about two miles off of Chapman Hwy. on the street that Walker grew up and still lives today, but many customers found it difficult to find.
That is when Walker decided to move his business to a more visible location in Seymour, on Chapman Hwy.
Walker built a brand new, state-of-the-art facility to continue to grow his already very successful and popular business.
Even though he has never advertised, word-of-mouth about his quality service has helped him build a large local clientele over the years.
When it came to building his new shop, Walker did not cut any corners.
“I’m very picky about the way things look,” he said. “Just like I am very picky about what leaves here.
“Automotive repair is what I have always done. I take it very seriously.”
The new 60-foot-by-160-foot facility is filled with new, top-of-the-line, and eco-friendly equipment.
Walker and his six employees, who are all I Car Gold Certified, offer services such as windshield replacement, rental car assistance, frame and unibody repair, and paintless scratch and dent repairs.
“For the paintless dent repair we have tools we use to go behind and push out the ding,” Walker said. “It cuts costs by a lot.
“A ding can cost a customer $75 with this method versus $375 by having to paint the whole panel.”
If paint jobs are required, Walker uses his new state-of-the-art Draft paint booth and prep stations, as well as EnvrioBase paint by PPG which is environmentally friendly.
In addition to assuring quality service, Walker wants to assure the safety of his clients’ vehicles, so he has installed a gate around his lot as well as 24-hour-a-day surveillance.
The shop offers direct repair for most major insurance companies, provides pick-up and delivery of vehicles and offers free estimates.
