Two Seymour residents were arrested as part of a countywide drug round-up that resulted in the arrest of 25 Sevier County residents on Tuesday.
Jeffrey Riggs Jr., 26, of Shenandoah Drive, was arrested for one count of Manufacturing Marijuana, and Ronald R. Whisnant Jr., 38, of Little Alpine Road was arrested for one count Sale and Delivery Sch VI in excess of 0.5 oz.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that the round-up is the result of a six month undercover operation by Sevier County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit.
The arrests took place after a Sevier county Grand Jury returned the presentments last week.
Officers started the round-up at approximately 6 a.m. Tuesday morning and continued throughout the day as several teams spread through the county arresting the drug dealers.
All of the subjects were transported to the Sevier county Jail after their arrest and were held on bond.
Seals said more arrests are expected when the suspects are located.
