A second person has been arrested in connection with the child abuse of a Sevier County toddler.
Jeremy R. Haroldson, 25 of Sevierville and stepfather of a three-year-old boy whose mother was arrested in connection to abuse charges nearly three weeks ago, has been arrested after being charged with Aggravated Child Abuse in connection with the injuries sustained by the three year old.
The boy’s mother, Sara M. Haroldson was initially charged with child abuse on Jan. 9 by Sevier county Sheriff’s Office Child Crimes Investigators after she brought the child to Leconte Medical Center in Sevierville with severe burns to his buttocks and feet and also bruising on the child’s body.
The investigation continued by the Sheriff’s Office and the Tenn. Department of Children Services.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that in addition to the charges being placed against the stepfather, the mother’s charges were also upgraded to Aggravated Child Abuse and as a result she was re-arrested after making bond for the original charges.
The toddler was released from the burn unit at Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta Georgia and has been placed in foster care by the Department of Child Services.
