The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department recently released its total run statistics for 2010.
 A total of 1,871 calls were received by the department, and of those calls 1,097 were fielded by day staffing and 4,297 total man hours were spent.
Of the calls, 994 were Emergency Medical Service and 206 were motor vehicles accidents, with 22 requiring extrication.
SVFD responded to 56 structure fires over the course of the year, 32 brush fires and 23 vehicle fires.
There were also 281 runs that were classified as other in 2010. The “other” category includes fire alarms, smoke investigations, nothing found, unauthorized burns, gas line breaks and so on.
In addition, 279 calls were cancelled en route.
Of the total number of calls for 2010, 740 were in Sevier County, 837 were in Knox County, and 294 were located in Blount County.
