A Morristown couple has been arrested in connection with a string of rental cabin burglaries in Sevier County.
At approximately 4 a.m. Jan. 2 an occupant of a rental cabin, located in the Sherwood Forest Resort off Mill Creek Road, was awakened by an individual dressed in dark clothing inside the rental cabin.
The perpetrator fled the cabin on foot and the occupants called 911.
Officers from the Sevier County Sheriff’s Department and Pigeon Forge Police Department arrived a few minutes later and found the individual, identified as Branden Webb, hiding under a bed in another cabin which was unoccupied.
Also, a woman, identified as Ashley France, was found sitting in a car nearby and it was determined that she assisted Webb in the burglaries.
After further investigation it was determined that several cabins had been burglarized by the pair and the property taken was recovered in the woods around the cabins.
It was also later determined that Webb was a maintenance man for the rental cabin company and had access to the door codes.
Webb, 23 of Bacon Lane, has been charged with four counts of aggravated burglary and France has been charged with one count of aggravated burglary.
Both were arraigned before a Magistrate and a $45,000 bond was set for Webb and a $9,500 bond for France.
Both are currently incarcerated awaiting a Jan. 28 hearing date.
