A Seymour man has been arrested in connection with burglaries in the Seymour area.
Joseph Brandon Pique, 23 of the 800 block of Dayton Drive, was arrested without incident after a traffic stop on Chapman Hwy. Dec. 9 by Sevier County Officers.
Sevier County Sheriff Ron Seals said that on Dec. 8 officers responded to a burglary in progress at 12704 Chapman Hwy. where an individual was attempting to pry a door open. The woman in the house pushed the door shut and the perpetrator fled in a vehicle.
Detectives responded to the scene and Pique was identified as a suspect later that evening.
Pique was not at his residence when officers arrived there on Dec. 9, but they found a stolen motorcycle from Knox County on the property.
He was stopped by officers on Chapman Hwy. after a BOLO was issued and other suspected stolen property was found in his truck.
The vehicle was also identified as being used in a burglary that occurred on Dec. 2 at 470 Jack Sharp Road in Seymour.
Pique was charged with two counts of Aggravated Burglary and driving on a suspended license. He was arraigned before a Magistrate and a $75,000 bond was set. A Jan. 28 hearing date has been set.
