DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – With five rounds and 72 holes in the books, former Lady Vol Angela Oh found herself in the top-20 as she tied for 10th after shooting a 74 on the final day to earn her LPGA Tour card at the Champions course at LPGA International on Sunday.
Oh entered the final round with a share of 11th and ended with a five-round total of 70-74-70-72-74=260 (E).
Jessica Shepley grabbed a share of 30th after a fourth round surge to card a 74-79-72-66-74=365 (+5). By placing in the top 30, Shepley earned Priority in Category 16.
Young-A Yang finished the tournament with a score of 71-78-73-73-77=372 (+12) to tie for 59th.
A field of 120 players competed at the event to either earn membership or improve their current member status for the 2011 LPGA Tour.
The top 20 players earned LPGA status Priority in Category 11. Players finishing in the 21s-30th spots earned Priority in Category 16, followed by 31st-40th, who received Priority in Category 20.
Oh tied for 40th at the final qualifier in 2008, and was sixth on the FUTURES Tour money list this past fall. The Maple Shade, N.J., native played for the Lady Vols from 2006-08, earning honorable-mention All-America honors from Golfweek as well as second-team All-SEC in 2007.
Shepley has competed in six LPGA tournaments since graduating from Tennessee as an All-SEC and honorable mention All-America award winner during her career from 2001-05.
Yang has been a member of the LPGA Tour since 2003 and has competed in over 100 tournaments, earning nearly $700,000. The Tae-Gu City, South Korea, native is the most decorated golfer in Big Orange history, having earned four All-America distinctions from 1999-2002.
